Squire Sanders swoops for DLA construction and engineering team

LAW firm Squire Sanders has snapped up a team of engineering and construction lawyers from Birmingham legal rival DLA.

The team includes Graeme Bradley who was group head at DLA, covering Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Bradley and fellow partner Robert Norris join Squire Sanders with associates Richard Vaughan, Alex Johnson, Matthew Edwards and Matthew Crossley.

Bradley specialises in both engineering and construction project delivery. He has considerable experience in all aspects of heavyweight construction dispute resolution, including domestic and international arbitration, litigation and bespoke alternative dispute resolution.

He has recently advised a German contractor in relation to a US$300m issue regarding a gas to liquid plant known as the Pearl GTL in Qatar.

Bradley will take on a key leadership role in leading and building up the Squire Sanders global construction and engineering team.

Norris advises on high-end engineering and construction projects, dealing with major infrastructure, rail and light rail, civil engineering, energy, process plant and building sectors in both the UK and internationally.

He has recently been involved with projects in both the private and public sectors, ranging from local projects, such as New Street Station and the Bull Ring, to national projects such as the London 2012 Olympics.

The team has worked together for several years.

Squire Sanders’ Birmingham office managing partner Nick Green said: “We have been looking for some time to find the right lawyers to build our engineering, procurement and construction team.

“In Graeme and Robert we believe we have found two partners with exactly the right blend of ambition and experience to lead our team. We see their core skills significantly improving our services to clients in this area.”
