George Green expands into Wolverhampton
BLACK COUNTRY law firm George Green is continuing with its expansion by opening a new office in Wolverhampton.
The firm has taken the entire ground floor of 19 Waterloo Road – currently known as First City House – and the office is expected to open in August.
Cradley Heath-based George Green, which has 10 partners and 60 staff, said the prestigious building offered it the space to accommodate its ambitious growth plans.
The ground floor suite is currently occupied by First City, which will relocate to larger and refurbished accommodation on the second and third floors. The existing space will be refurbished for its new tenants, coinciding with the re-naming of the building from First City House to 19 Waterloo Road.
Paul Bennett, George Green senior partner, said: “As a firm, we are extremely proud of our Black Country heritage, which dates back to 1897. The volume of Wolverhampton-based clients and professional contacts we have acquired over the years meant the city was the natural choice when we started weighing up our expansion options.
“The new office will be headed by partners James Coles (litigation) and Philip Round (corporate), with plans for expansion in the coming months.
“The move marks the start of a new era for George Green and we’re looking forward to servicing the legal needs of businesses and people employed in and around Wolverhampton and playing an active role in the city’s business community.”

George Green’s Wolverhampton partners will be supported by a team based at the firm’s head office in Cradley Heath. The firm also has an office in Birmingham’s Colmore Business District.
