SP Holding sets up shop in Manchester
TELFORD-based truck and trailer care services firm SP Holding Group has opened a repairs and maintenance depot in Manchester.
The move is part of a strategy to diversify the company – which now has separate operations for drainage services, plant and event hire, logistics, truck and trailer repair, maintenance and contract hire.
A new company, SP Holding Ltd, has been established within the group structure, to develop the truck and trailer repair and maintenance arm of the business.
SP Holding Group’s commercial director James Walker said the company now has new capability to expand geographically and win new business.
He said: “The different elements of the SP Holding Group work together to offer a very attractive range of integrated truck, trailer care and logistics support services.
“We have taken advantage of this potential by opening an operations centre in Manchester where these services are being delivered to new clients, many of them large blue chip companies.”
A key step in the development of this capability was the acquisition, last November, of Trailercare, the Midland trailer repair and maintenance brand, and Trailercare’s depot in Wolverhampton.
The operation has been significantly improved with investment in new diagnostics technology, vehicles, equipment and web-based customer support systems.
