Duckers & Diving: Spend, spend, spend

THIS week our award-winning columnist reveals the spending exploits of lottery winner Tony “large red wine please” Flanagan
I hear that society photographer Tony Flanagan has just blown a big lottery win.
Decided to treat partner Yvonne to a posh meal at the swanky Brockencote Hall, at Chaddesley Corbett, owned by Sir Peter Rigby.
A successful night – the boy is still salivating over the food.
Lots of most unlike Flan adjectives like “exquisite” – words I hadn’t realised were in his vernacular.
Nice service from the Portuguese waitress.
Just a little hiccup when it came to pay the bill.
She returns to inform our gourmet that very unfortunately his card has been rejected.
And, doing a double check, he discovers the meal came to £22,720 – a touch steep even for the Brockencote’s reputation.
Flanagan goes ashen, but eventually the minor difficulty is all sorted out by the manager after it seems a slight issue with a decimal point being in the wrong place.
Phew!
And how much was this massive lottery win?
All of £6.20!
“It just about paid for the olives,” quips the snapper.
