CK Systems targets growth after acquisition

A BLACK COUNTRY IT business is expanding its specialist accounting software business following a strategic acquisition.

CK Systems is targeting growth after acquiring Birmingham-based reseller Pegasus. The deal sees the Dudley firm extend its customer base having taken on the entire Pegasus business, which was previously run by Microtrading Ltd.

As an approved, long-standing supplier of Pegasus software, CK Systems has been providing business, accounting and payroll solutions to its wide ranging client portfolio since joining the nationwide partner network in 1996.

Pegasus business and accounting software is tailored to fit individual customer requirements and includes applications for finance, payroll and HR, CRM, supply chain management, business intelligence and construction.

Steve Henson, senior IT consultant at CK Systems, said: “This is an exciting time for CK Systems. With over 15 years experience providing quality business and accounting software to a growing number of businesses, we are well placed to expand our customer base.”

He said the company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of independent accountancy firm CK Chartered Accountants, had visited all its new customers to explain about the changes and the new support which would be available.

CK partner Iain Johnstone, who brokered the deal, said: “This acquisition is a perfect fit for CK Systems. Our new customers will benefit from the professional expertise of the CK Systems team who already specialise in Pegasus accounting and business services.”

Andrew Penlington, managing director of Microtrading Ltd, said: “I’m very excited about working with CK.  Streamlining our business will enable Microtrading to focus on its core activities in the areas of IT Support, E-Commerce, CRM and Web Solutions whilst knowing that with CK’s knowledge and expertise our Pegasus customers will be well looked after.”
