drpgroup fun day boost for New Hope Worcester

WORCESTERSHIRE communications firm drpgroup’s project management and design and print teams helped organise a family fun day at the New Hope Worcester charity facilities.

The day involved face painting, photo shoots, beauty treatments, penalty shoot out, bin liner fashion show and bottle-rocket launching.

New Hope Worcester works with children with disabilities, providing support for parents and carers.

The team were able to raise £1,720 for the charity and the cheque was presented on the day.

The main objective of the day was to create some fun for the children, their parents and carers while raising money for the charity.

drpgroup project manager Suzie Blundell said:  “We were so excited to be involved with this amazing day for such a worthwhile cause,. The amount raised will help New Hope carry on doing inspiring things for really special families.”

Local charities raise a glass to the Bull Run

THE Bull Run, Birmingham’s biggest charity pub crawl, raised “a great deal of money” for two local charities – Kerrang Cash for Kids and Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice – when it was staged recently.

Bull Run 2012The event, brain child of Bart Dalton of the Mercantile Club and based around the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, brings together people from all types of businesses including professional services, creative, property and manufacturing in a relaxed, social environment.

150 people, spread over two teams of “Pub Crawlers,” started off from St Pauls Club and The Old Contemptibles pub and wound their way through the city.

“It is great to see so many familiar faces as well as new ones each year. This is a great event that is so beneficial to my business connections and it’s great fun too,” said Gary Wroe of Pure Fine Jewellery.

CPBigwood charity golfers set to celebrate ten years

STAFF at property agents and auctioneers CPBigwood and their guests are warming up for the tenth annual charity golf day to be held at Edgbaston Golf Club on Wednesday, October 17.

Each year the winning team members are able to nominate the charity they wish to benefit from the money raised.

The winner of the 2011 event was NatWest which nominated Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice. Theresa Meek, representing the hospice, was presented with a cheque for £2,037.52.

Over the years, the event has raised tens of thousands of pounds with beneficiaries including Sandwell & City Hospital Neonatal Department, Breast Cancer UK, Olivia Clarke, Macmillan Nurses, Barnardo’s, Acorns Hospice, the Maria Watt Foundation for Childhood & Teenage Leukaemia, MS Society and Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.
