George Green expands Corporate team

GEORGE Green has expanded its Corporate team with the appointment of a new associate.

Leanne Consiglio joins the firm’s Cradley Heath office from FBC Manby Bowdler. Ms Consiglio, who qualified in 2005, graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with an LLB (Hons) in business law.

She has acted for a diverse range of clients, including owner managed businesses to large plcs. In her new position she will work closely with Head of Team Guy Green and the rest of the Corporate team.

Mr Green said: “Given the economic climate we have been encouraged by the significant number of transactions we have been completing. Both the size and volume of transactions have continued to grow, so Leanne’s appointment is a timely one. Her experience and skills will be a significant help to enable us to continue to provide high levels of personal client service.”

HCB Solicitors targets SMEs with new appointment

HCB Solicitors has appointed a specialist in SME tax driven work as corporate director.

Marcus Everett has joined to work closely with SMEs, helping them to protect their assets, make the best use of relevant tax rates and add value to their business.

Mr Everett has advised businesses for many years on reorganisations, restructurings, exit strategies, share schemes, acquisitions and disposals, business and personal tax and all other commercial aspects of their businesses.

Mike Gahan, chief executive of HCB Solicitors, said: “Marcus’s appointment is a logical step in the firm’s development. He brings extensive business awareness and proficiency to our portfolio.”

HCB has offices in Alcester, Lichfield, Redditch, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Stratford upon Avon and Walsall.

Keoghs appoints 1,000th employee

COVENTRY firm Keoghs has appointed its 1,000th employee. Shelley Galluccio joins the firm from Sedgwick Phelon & Partners, where she spent three years in the personal injury department as a trainee solicitor.

The 26-year-old has joined the firm’s Fraud Rings team as a fee earner specialising in handling the case files of suspected fraud rings, passed on to Keoghs by insurance company clients.

In the last financial year Keoghs handled more than 21,000 litigated and 10,000 pre-litigated claims across motor, property and casualty lines of business and saw turnover rise to in excess of £55m.
