Tipton and Coseley offers youngsters a helping hand

ON the back of recruiting five trainees into full time positions at the start of the year, The Tipton and Coseley Building Society has again offered a helping hand to youngsters looking for a career in the financial services industry with the appointment of another seven members of staff.

Joining The Tipton are Kaitlyn Martin, who will be working in the mortgage and compliance department, Claire Williams, Lauren Walters, Leah Holl, Emma Simcox, Michael Jones and Rachel Ratcliffe, who have been appointed as counter staff.

Lee Judson, general manager sales and marketing at The Tipton said: “As was the case at the start of the year, we were inundated with applications for the positions, demonstrating that youngsters have insatiable appetites for learning and developing their careers.

“What unifies this new intake is their work ethic – in addition to their academic qualifications they all have bags of enthusiasm and a passion to succeed and we’re pleased to have welcomed them to the team.”

Smith Cooper expands IT team

BUSINESS adviser and accountants Smith Cooper has expanded its IT team in the East Midlands with the appointment of Ed Atkin to its Derby Office.

The firm, which has eight offices across the Midlands, is a Sage Business Partner, specialising in Sage accounts applications. The appointment of Mr Atkin will improve operations as he has experience of working in both communications and with Sage business partners.

Richard Brewster, Head of IT Business Solutions, said: “We are always looking to add to our existing team, and are delighted to welcome Ed. Ed has a great aptitude to learn new products and his skills compliment the current skill sets that we have.”

Inspired promotion for Lichfield accountants

Steven Payton, left, with Paul Bulzacchelli, managing director at Inspired Accountants LICHFIELD-based Inspired Accountants has strengthened its growth plans with a directorship promotion for an experienced industry professional.
 
Steven Payton, left, has been appointed director as the practice looks to continue its growth within the regional market.
 
Mr Payton joined Inspired Accountants as a tax consultant in January this year and the firm said he had already made a significant contribution towards the practice’s growth strategy.

Paul Bulzacchelli, right, managing director at Inspired Accountants said: “Steven has past experience of working for HM Revenue & Customs and some of the leading accountancy firms within the UK.  So to attract someone of Steven’s calibre was a great step forward for the practice earlier this year.

Mr Payton has more than 25 years of experience gained through working for firms such as KPMG, PKF and RSM.
