Amillian heads to the clouds for growth

SOLIHULL communications integrator Amillan is targeting new business in the enterprise, education and public sector markets after launching a new cloud service.

AmillanCloud will provide the full Microsoft Lync Unified Communications solution as a cloud-based service and the company said it was targeting firms looking to reduce their capital expenditure on IT.

The service is consistent across PC, browser, and mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.

Richard Reid, a director at Amillan, said the service covered everything from moving in-house servers to complete disaster recovery solutions.

Customer service apps strengthen mplsystems

WARWICK-based calls centre specialist mplsystems has launched a new suite of mobile customer service apps to address the industry’s pressing need to integrate smartphone and tablet-based activities into existing contact centre service queues.

The apps are designed specifically to support increasingly complex customer service processes by fully integrating with existing contact centre activities.

The apps suite also incorporates an app builder that enables organisations to build their own self service apps for smartphone users and integrates these into their multi-channel contact centre.

Paul White, mplsystems’ CEO, said: “Our research shows that while customers appreciate the immediacy and control that apps can deliver, they also want the certainty that comes from knowing their issues or requirements are being resolved.

“We’ve built our new suite of customer service apps to specifically address this, with 100% of all smartphone interactions connecting with existing contact centre queues and processes. This means that at any stage users can easily transfer out of the app into the contact centre queue, taking all of their transactional data with them.”
