Itihaas takes its flavours further afield

THE catering arm of up-market Birmingham restaurant group Itihaas has won a contract to provide food to hotels around the UK.
The Newhall Street-based Indian eaterie’s owners have done a deal with hotels within the Q Hotel group and the Grand Connaught Rooms Hotel in London.
It is the latest expansionist move from Itihaas which recently opened a brasserie in Selfridges in Birmingham.
Founded in 2003, the Q Hotel group consists of 21 four star hotels which includes five golf resorts, 17 spa hotels and two city centre hotels. The requirement for an Asian caterer follows an increase in the uptake of Asian weddings across the venues.
Itihaas will provide catering to Q Hotels in Oxford, Nottingham and Stratford as well as Chesford Grange and Hampshire Court.
Grand Connaught Rooms is part of the PH Hotels group. The central London venue dates back to 1775 and has gained a reputation for hosting business and social occasions. As the preferred Asian caterer supplier, Itihaas will provide food for the hotel’s events.
Itihaas managing director Raj Rana said: “At Itihaas, we are really excited about the partnership with the Q Hotel group and Grand Connaught Rooms.
“In the Midlands our name is synonymous with fine dining Indian restaurants, but this partnership is the strengthening of our catering division. The spread of the hotels all around the UK means that Itihaas is a name that will soon become familiar to everyone.”
