Forum to discuss tourism developments in Worcestershire

THE vital role tourism plays in support Worcestershire’s economy will be among the issues discussed at this year’s Destination Worcestershire Annual Tourism Forum.

The event, which will be held in the stunning surroundings of Stanbrook Abbey on November 15, will include an update on the first year progress of tourism partnership, Destination Worcestershire.

Mike Ashton, Chief Executive of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, will also be updating the industry on the changing landscape of tourism in Worcestershire.

Other guest speakers include Jason Freezer, from VisitEngland, Professor Judith Elkin, from the Worcestershire Arts Partnership, Mick Hurst, from Areca Design, based in Evesham and a guest performance from the English Symphony Orchestra.

The event will celebrate the completion of Phase One at Stanbrook Abbey and will provide an opportunity for delegates to review the progress of the work so far.

“Tourism is an important industry for the county.  This event celebrates our success and provides points for the future,” said Mr Ashton.

The event is free and tourism businesses from across the county are being targeted to attend.
