Canary coup for Palletways

LICHFIELD-based Palletways has added the Canary Islands to its distribution network.

The firm, Europe’s largest provider of express distribution services for palletised goods is delivering the service via its Iberian network member Loto Logística.

The head office of Loto Logística is in Madrid but it has depots in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where it centralises the collection and distribution of goods across Europe.

The Palletways Group is made up of 300 depots and ten hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 11 European countries. The group’s distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively.

Speaking about the Canary Islands venture, Palletways Europe managing director Rachael Alpha said: “This expansion is part of our wider strategy to bring our services closer to customers across Europe.”

Jose López-Infantes, general manager at Loto Logística, said: “We wanted to be part of a network which mirrored the quality of service and work ethos at Loto Logística and we have found just that in Palletways.”
