Fellowship four commended by Birmingham Met

FOUR business role models have received fellowship awards at Birmingham Metropolitan College’s higher education awards ceremony.

Katie Teasdale, director of policy and strategic relationships at Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group and Suzie Branch, managing director of PR firm BranchMartinSpicer received recognition for the work experience, mentoring and networking opportunities they have enabled the college’s students to be involved in. 

Tony Carr, plant manager for Caterpillar BCP was named a college fellow following his role in supporting the career progression of over 600 apprentices based in Desford, Leicestershire while Rolf Ott, headmaster at Arwed-Rossbach-Scule in Liepzig, Germany, was also commended for instigating exchange trips for more than 15 years which have enhanced the cultural opportunities and personal development of learners from both institutions.

College principal Dr Christine Braddock CBE said: “These exceptional people have encouraged and supported the academic and professional development of learners throughout their studies. They have also represented the college at many industry-led events, sharing their passion for excellence in education and training.

“We are extremely proud to recognise their contribution in this special way.”
