Birmingham PR Clive Reeves targets European expansion

A BIRMINGHAM-based PR firm is targeting European growth with the opening of a new office in Brussels this quarter.

The office will allow the Clive Reeves PR team to service its account service its account with a premium automotive manufacturer, based out of Brussels and Luxembourg. The firm will continue the delivery of a pan-European campaign.

The consultancy, whose principal office is in Birmingham Science Park, has also enjoyed a number of prestigious account wins in Birmingham recently, including Colmore Business District.

Clive Reeves, managing director, said: “This year has seen us travel some 100,000 miles, taking us all around Europe and even as far as Dubai. Technology means that the team is able to connect and work from anywhere but a physical presence, though not essential, does demonstrate a commitment to servicing continental clients.

“A British PR team is an attractive and effective proposition for pan-European comms briefs, as clear and simple written English is essential when producing materials that will be translated in many different languages and disseminated throughout EMEA.

“As well as our automotive account, which is based out of Brussels and Luxembourg, we are currently in talks with another blue-chip company for a brief of similar size and nature. We anticipate that the office will initially be manned for at least a week every month.”

Clive Reeves PR has received advice from both UKTI and the British Chamber of Commerce in Brussels on its physical move into Europe. In October 2012 the firm was visited by Jonathan Brenton, UK Ambassador to Belgium, who offered his personal advice on how to make the most of business opportunities in the region.

The consultancy has also this week been shortlisted for PR Stunt of the Year at the Golden Hedgehog Awards for its “#EUTyreLabelArtTour” project, which saw the team travel to nine European countries in four days with an artist who paints with remote controlled cars to mark the introduction of new EU legislation on tyre sales.

Both Reeves and David Kuczora, the firm’s principal consultant, are heavily involved with industry trade body the Public Relations Consultants Association. Reeves is regional vice-chairman and Kuczora sits on the UK-wide senior advisory board the PR Council.
