Halfords raids pet store group for new executive

HALFORDS chief executive Matt Davies has persuaded former colleague Rob Swyer to join him at the Redditch-based retailer.
Swyer worked at ASDA before joining Handforth-based Pets at Home as business development director. He will join the listed car parts and cycle retailer on April 3.
Davies joined Halfords in October 2012 after a short break following his departure from Pets at Home, where he led a major roll-out programme and took the business through a £995m deal with buyout giant KKR.
Commenting on the new appointment Davies said: “Rob brings with him a wealth of experience from leading retail companies, coupled with a clear track record of implementing service-based retail offers that deliver great experiences for customers.
“I look forward to working with him on the next stage of Halfords’ journey and particularly the expert help and service we provide in-store.”
