Turkish Airlines adds extra flights from Birmingham Airport

TURKISH Airlines is increasing its Birmingham Airport daily flight programme from seven to ten flights each week.

This development means that the number of flights a week to Istanbul and beyond with Turkish Airlines has doubled since starting operations from Birmingham in December 2008.

This is due to both the high demand from the Midlands to Istanbul as well as the two hundred plus global destinations available from Turkish Airlines Istanbul hub, throughout Europe, the Far East, the Middle East and Africa.

Selim Ozturk, general manager for Turkish Airlines at Birmingham Airport, said: “Since starting flights from Birmingham in 2008, we have been very grateful for the demand that is in the Midlands region and I’m very proud of the growth that we have achieved.

“The extra flights offer even more choice than ever thanks to our growing network from Istanbul, which now spans across 98 countries, providing 221 destinations worldwide for the Midlands’ business and leisure traveller.”

Paul Kehoe, CEO of Birmingham Airport, said: “We are delighted that Turkish Airlines has gone from strength to strength and has committed so much into making its Birmingham operation such a success.”
