BNP Paribas raids CBRE for a third time as White comes on board

WELL-known Midlands commercial property figure Chris White has joined BNP Paribas Real Estate from rival firm CBRE.

It is the third time this year BNP Paribas has taken senior staff away from its rival. Earlier this month Nick Waddington switched to become head of industrial agency and in January Andrew Meikle joined as head of Birmingham investment.

White will become BNP Paribas’ Birmingham head of development consulting.

White, who specialises in viability appraisals, developer procurement, development agreements, delivery models and implementation advice, was a director of the national development consultancy and regeneration team that provided advice to both the private and public sectors at CBRE.

Prior to this, he was at Castlemore Securities and Spring Urban Regeneration. His clients have included central government, the Homes and Communities Agency, local authorities, development agencies and development corporations, as well as national and regional developers.

The newly formed BNP Paribas Birmingham development consulting team will be boosted with the incorporation of the established planning team. White will work alongside senior planner Kiran Williams to provide integrated development and planning advisory services within the Midlands.

Paul Rixon, who heads up the firm’s Birmingham operation, said: “Chris will help to boost our already established UK development consultancy team, as he brings with him in-depth regeneration expertise.

“His broad track record includes delivering strategies for town centre retail schemes, large brownfield regeneration schemes and strategic housing sites, bringing together practical experience, commercialism, public processes and delivery models.”

This appointment is the latest in a flurry of hirings at BNP Paribas Real Estate.

Apart from Waddington and Meikle, the firm has recruited Patrick Heaps as head of retail from Drivers Jonas Deloitte, Simon Williams as head of retail investment also from Drivers Jonas Deloitte, Adrian Owen as UK head of residential consulting from Montagu Evans and Nadir Khan-Juhoor as director and head of Edinburgh office agency from Knight Frank.

In addition, Patrick Pryce has been brought in from West Bromwich Building Society as national head of debt advisory, based within its Birmingham office.
