Michelin star chef Sophie Michell lined up for Stratford food festival

MICHELIN star restaurant chef and healthy eating expert, Sophie Michell, is the latest celebrity cook to join the all-star line-up at this year’s Stratford Food Festival.
Michell is best known for co-presenting hit show ‘Cook Yourself Thin’, guest judging on ‘Iron Chef’ USA and writing ‘Cook Yourself Thin: A Delicious Way to Drop a Dress Size’. Her appearance at the festival is in support of national deaf-blind charity, Sense, which will be raising awareness of its work.
The festival takes place between September 14 and 15 and festival organisers have confirmed Michell as headline act for the Saturday; with “Great British Bake-Off” star Paul Hollywood taking centre stage on the Sunday. The highly anticipated weekend festival takes place at Stratford Racecourse.
Charlotte Harris, of event organiser Showplace, said: “We are thrilled to confirm Sophie Michell as our second celebrity chef at this year’s event. We believe that her healthy take on food will compliment Paul Hollywood’s love of baking perfectly.”
Michell began her career at the tender age of 14 and by the time she was 19 was nominated for The Craft Guild of Chef ‘Young Chef of the Year Award’. Since then she has worked at some of London’s finest Michelin starred restaurants, including The Green House, The Lanesborough and The Embassy, had several successful cookbooks published, while catering for a host of A-List celebrities; namely Claudia Schiffer, Leonardo DiCaprio and David Cameron.
The festival programme will feature a host of local and regional food and drink producers, tastings and talks from industry experts, children’s activities and live music.
“With extra space available at the new racecourse site, we are able to offer our visitors even more than previous years, while supporting local traders and foodies on a wider scale,” added Ms Harris.
Tickets will be available online from the end of May via the website www.stratfordfoodfestival.co.uk.
