TheBusinessDesk.com launches Deal of the Month
THEBUSINESSDESK.COM has joined forces with Birmingham Forward to celebrate the region’s deals and dealmakers – with a monthly award for the standout deal of the moment.
The Deal of the Month will be the accolade that goes to the MBO, IPO, takeover or restructure that a panel of expert judges thinks shows the best combination of regional involvement, creativity and impact. The panel consists of judges made up of experts from corporate finance, banking, law and accountancy who will meet to review each month’s crop of deals – and pick a winner.
Editor of TheBusinessDesk.com Marc Reeves will chair the panel. He said: “This isn’t going to be easy, because sometimes a standout deal may be one that has taken years or exceptional effort to get away – but may not involve an considerable amount of money.
“We’ll be looking for deals that primarily have a strong regional dimension, that may involve some clever cross-team co-operation, or have a result that represents a real success for a business owner, or indeed the region itself.”
Dealmakers don’t need to formally apply to be considered for Deal of the Month, but only deals reported on by TheBusinessDesk.com are eligible. To aid the process, a new ‘Deals Table’ feature has been developed to bring together in a handy-at-a-glance guide the key data for each deal.
When each month’s winner is declared, the principle players will be invited to share the behind-the-scenes story of the deal through a special editorial feature on the site.
