Zicam secures new business aimed at saving DHL £3m

DUDLEY-based Zicam Security has secured a major contract by being named as one of DHL’s main accredited partners.
The firm will now be responsible for security and safety at 25 of the logistic group’s UK and Ireland sites. The agreement will save DHL around £3m a year in security costs.
Zicam, which has worked with DHL for seven years, is providing remote monitoring as opposed to physical security, using state-of-the-art surveillance and detection security systems, including CCTV, access and gate control, alarms and Automatic Number Plate Recognition.
The Dudley firm said that as a result of the measures it introduced intrusions at the logistics company’s sites were brought to an end.
Larry Mazic, Zicam’s Business Development Manager, said: “As with most of our clients we’ve had a longstanding relationship with DHL. Having provided them with our reliable security equipment for several years, we took the chance to become one of their main suppliers when it opened up.”
Established in 1996, Zicam Security serves a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sectors.
It provides a bespoke surveillance system specifically designed for individual premises. Multiple cameras are integrated both with a customer’s existing security system and Zicam’s own central monitoring unit to provide 24/7 coverage.
