New senior partner for Higgs & Sons

BLACK Country law firm Higgs & Sons has announced that a new senior partner will lead the firm from November.

Nick Moxon, head of private client, will take over from current senior partner Ian Shovlin, who has led the firm for the last decade.

Under the tenure of Shovlin, working alongside managing partner Paul Hunt, Higgs’ growth strategy in the last ten years has seen the firm expand to more than 100 lawyers and move to new headquarters at Brierley Hill’s Waterfront Business Park.

Moxon has been with the firm for nearly 20 year. He will continue to head the private client team where his client base includes a large number of business owners.

He said: “I am taking over from a hugely successful senior partner, who played a pivotal role in helping the firm grow beyond all expectations. My appointment by the partners is an honour and I’m looking forward to leading Higgs in the next stage of the firm’s development.”

Shovlin will continue in the role until November and will remain as a partner with the firm as head of its personal injury team. He said: “The last ten years have been great fun. Higgs has a fantastic team, which has helped the firm make great strides in the last decade.”

Managing partner Paul Hunt, who has been re-elected for a further term, said: “Ian has worked hard to lead us through a rapid expansion programme and will continue to be a great ambassador for Higgs.

“Nick’s appointment is great news for the firm. He understands the firm inside out and I am excited about working with Nick as we continue to build a firm that attracts the best talent and delivers services in the way our clients expect from us.”
