Two new partners at Thursfields
THURSFIELDS Solicitors has strengthened with the appointment of two new partners to the firm.
Associate Solicitor and Head of Probate, Michelle Green, has been promoted, while Tony Gibb becomes Commercial Property partner.
Ms Green, who advises on wills, probate, powers of attorney, court of protection matters, tax and trust matters, has been at the firm for 10 years having previously worked in a large city practice. She is a graduate of the bespoke in-house training programme, launched by the firm in 2010.
Gibb, who will advise on business leases; agricultural tenancies; site acquisition and disposal and all aspects of residential sales and purchases, including matrimonial transfers, has experience of commercial property and development work as well as residential conveyancing.

“Michelle has demonstrated her ability in her legal knowledge, business development and management over the past couple of years. The firm has also appointed Shane Miller to its Family team. She joins Thursfields from DWT, where she was Head of Family for seven years, having gained experience as a paralegal with Davison’s Solicitors.
Ms Miller will be based at the firm’s Stourport office and will advise on all aspects of family law including divorce and associated financial matters, issues with children following separation, pre-nuptial agreements and living together agreements.
No fear for BCL Legal as it promotes in-house talent
BIRMINGHAM-based legal recruiter BCL Legal has promoted Nick Fear to senior associate.
Fear, left, has worked at BCL Legal since 2010 and has a particular focus on corporate, commercial, commercial property, commercial litigation and employment law.

Promotion for Thomas Horton trainee
WORCESTERSHIRE-based Thomas Horton has appointed one of its trainees to a permanent solicitor position in its business services department.
Harjinder Bains, left, graduated with distinction from the College of Law and has been working at the firm’s head office in Bromsgrove since 2011. He spent the majority of his traineeship working in the firm’s business services team.
Jeff Taylor, head of the business services department, right, said: “Harjinder was chosen for his traineeship from a very strong field of candidates and has been an asset to our team from day one. He has added value in each department he has worked in but we were certain that his expertise lies in business services and we are pleased that he has accepted this position with us.”
