Jaguar Land Rover shuffles senior management to better support growth

VEHICLE manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has announced changes in the structure of its Executive Committee to help the company maximise future growth opportunities.

The changes include the revision of Executive Committee roles to reflect the company’s recent international sales growth and increased operational scale.

As part of the changes, JLR will create a unified marketing and sales team for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands, whilst also creating dedicated resources in strategy development and processes.

The changes, effective from October 1, 2013, will see Phil Popham, currently Director Group Sales Operations, become Group Marketing Director Jaguar Land Rover. In this new role he will be responsible for all global marketing activity on both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

Additionally, Andy Goss, currently President JLR North America, will become Group Sales Operations Director with responsibility for global sales and customer service. He will take over the lead of Popham’s current team and will join the Executive Committee. An announcement about the successor to the role of President JLR North America will be made in due course.

Adrian Hallmark, currently Global Brand Director for Jaguar, has been appointed to the new role of Group Strategy Director with responsibility for developing business strategy, process and supporting strategic projects, and John Edwards, currently Global Brand Director for Land Rover, will move to a new role in the senior management team which will be subject to a future announcement.

Dr Ralf Speth, JLR Chief Executive Officer, said: “This reorganisation represents a natural evolution of our management team, designed to sharpen our relentless focus on customer first. It is the next phase in our development, mirroring the recent changes we made to product creation and delivery, and bringing together the strategy and processes supporting the brands.”

In addition, Dr Wolfram Liedtke, currently Director Quality and Automotive Safety, will be retiring from the company at the end of this calendar year. His successor will be Grant McPherson, currently Operations Director, Castle Bromwich plant. He will report directly to Dr Speth and join the Executive Committee.
