Coup for Eversheds as it recruits DLA Piper’s Birmingham managing partner

MARK Beardmore, DLA Piper’s managing partner in Birmingham, is quitting the law firm to join city rivals Eversheds.
Beardmore, who has been with the firm for 14 years, joins Eversheds as a partner.
Another senior DLA Piper partner in Birmingham has also left for Eversheds.
IT outsourcing partner Simon Jones has joined Eversheds’ TMT sector group in Leeds.
DLA Piper has seen a number of departures from its Birmingham operation in recent months.
In June Mills & Reeve acquired a nine-strong insurance team from DLA Piper. The team was led by partner Alan Jacobs, formerly head of DLA Piper’s insurance group.
And in May well-known planning lawyer David Brammer joined the Birmingham office of law firm SGH Martineau from DLA Piper where he was legal director in the national planning team.
Speaking about Beardmore’s capture, David Beswick, senior office partner in Eversheds’ Birmingham office, said: “We’re excited to welcome Mark – an exceptional lawyer in his field.
“His expertise will be a welcomed addition to our global team and will continue to strengthen the services that we can offer clients both in the West Midlands and beyond.”
Beardmore is an M&A and private equity lawyer specialising in acting for major corporates and private equity institutions and management teams on acquisitions and disposals.
He regularly works on management buyouts, secondary buyouts, development capital investments and exits, as well international transactions.
