Walsall law firm Enoch Evans strengthened by new merger

TWO of Walsall’s longest established law firms, Enoch Evans and Addison O’Hare have confirmed their merger, which takes effect from today.
The combined outfit which will boast more than 40 lawyers and a staff of over 70 will operate under the name of Enoch Evans incorporating Addison O’Hare Solicitors.
Enoch Evans said the merger would strengthen its service offering, with additional expertise being added in the Matrimonial and Family department. The latter will come from Andrew Hunt and David Milne, partners at Addison in family related matters including children and child care work.
Also joining the expanded practice as partner will be Anne Ward, former Managing Partner, who will head up the Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution department, advising both individuals as well as businesses. In the capacity of consultant, Dixon Wilton will complete the new line up of the senior team, having previously been the Senior Partner at Addison O’Hare. He brings with him considerable expertise in commercial property law.
The merger will see the firm become one of the largest providers of legal services in the area by increasing its dominance in Walsall and strengthening its profile in the Black Country and the wider West Midlands. The firm’s aim is to provide a service offering more akin to a city law firm.
The managing partners of both firms said they saw the move as consolidating the base of clients been built up over many years of business. They said having over 40 lawyers under one roof could only serve to satisfy the increasing requirements of both business and private clients.
David Evans, Enoch Evans managing partner said: “Partners at Addison O’Hare and Enoch Evans believe this is an exciting project which will enable us to provide an increased and improved service to all of our clients within the West Midlands and beyond.”
Ms Ward added: “In such a rapidly changing environment, our responses have been developed to support that commercial challenge. By combining the strengths of both firms we can now offer a greater and stable long-term presence in Walsall and the Black Country, and support to our local community.”
