Food retailer Iceland selects ICC to launch major recruitment drive

FOOD retailer Iceland is to use an event at the ICC in Birmingham to launch a major recruitment drive.

The frozen food chain, which is looking to expand its portfolio by an additional 200 stores, is holding open day sessions at the convention centre tomorrow and Wednesday.

The company’s recruitment team will be on hand between 10am until 6pm in Executive Room 1, to speak to people interested in joining the company and answer any questions they may have.

Awarded the title of ‘The Sunday Times Best Big Company to Work For 2012’, Iceland has a network of over 800 stores, annual sales in excess of £2.6bn and more than 25,000 employees.

The firm plans to open a further 200 stores across the country, which are set to create hundreds of new jobs.

Rachel Russell, Iceland Recruitment Manager, said: “We are looking to speak to enthusiastic individuals about a variety of careers with us, including opportunities in our stores from frontline positions to management and in our Head Office functions including Finance, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, IS, Buying, Marketing and HR.

“It is a really exciting time to be joining us, with plenty of opportunities available, come along and see what we can offer you”.

The company said it had selected the ICC for the recruitment because of its facilities and the location of Birmingham at the heart of the UK transport network.
