Aaron & Partners advises on shotblasting acquisition

A SHROPSHIRE law firm has helped a Cheshire-based engineering group complete a major acquisition.

Shrewsbury-based Aaron & Partners, led by corporate commercial partner Clare Gray, acted for Pangborn Ltd on its takeover of the business and assets of North Wales-based Shotblast Engineering Services (SES).

The undisclosed deal secures a strong manufacturing presence in the UK for Pangborn Ltd, a UK based subsidiary of US-based Pangborn Group.

Pangborn Ltd, which will be conducting business as Pangborn-SES designs, manufactures, markets and services wheel blast and air blast surface preparation equipment, dust collectors and related products for the surface preparation market.

Hundreds of foundries, forges, steel producers and the extensive market of ferrous and non-ferrous steel component finishers worldwide have installed SES standard or custom engineered systems.

The operations will be consolidated and centralised into the previous SES manufacturing facility in Holywell, North Wales.

Ms Gray said: “We were delighted to work with Pangborn Ltd on its acquisition of the business of Shotblast Engineering Services, which has secured a strong manufacturing presence for it in the UK. The deal will enable it to grow the product portfolio which it can offer through its global network.”

Pangborn’s Steve Cooper said: “Under the new ownership by the Pangborn Group, Pangborn-SES is positioned to continuously serve their large installed base of machines worldwide, and expand their product offering through the extensive, worldwide Pangborn Group agent network.”

Aaron & Partners employs 106 people in total and has offices in Shrewsbury, Chester and Manchester.

SES was advised by Jeremy Orell of SAS Daniels.
