Chantrey Vellacott DFK strengthens tax team
CHANTREY Vellacott DFK has strengthened its Midlands tax team with the appointment of a new director.
Ross Northall is heading up the firm’s tax practice in the Midlands, and will be based out of its Birmingham office on Calthorpe Road.
Northall, who joins from Magma Chartered Accountants in Rugby, will also serve the firm’s regional offices in Northampton and Leicester.
The 31-year-old chartered accountant has a decade of experience in providing tax advice to both companies and individuals gained from firms including RSM Tenon and Mazars.
Northall was on the academy books of Kidderminster Harriers FC and Cheltenham Town FC prior to kicking-off his career in financial services.

Growth push for Gambit with new BD director
DAVID Rees has joined Gambit Corporate Finance as Business Development Director with responsibility for continuing the development of the market analysis and research capability within the firm supporting the M&A focus.
Rees is a qualified chartered accountant and started his career working for Deloitte, becoming a member of the firm’s forensic services team. Having worked in London and New York, he has over 15 years of experience in investment research, portfolio management and corporate finance.
He has been a director at a number of Global Investment Houses, including Deutsche Bank where he was the lead Pan European Analyst within the Software and IT Services sector.

Client wins prompt Bloomer Heaven to expand tax and audit team
BIRMINGHAM-based Bloomer Heaven has strengthened its tax and audit team with three new appointments.
Hayley Gibb, Stephen Axcell and Mark Squibb will work from Bloomer Heaven’s offices in the Colmore Business District on a wide range of the company’s clients.
The firm said its recent growth had resulted in the need to further resource its tax advisory service.
Hayley Gibb is a Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor and has worked in Birmingham for several years. She will specialise in providing tax planning advice with an emphasis on personal and capital taxes to the firm’s entrepreneurial client base.
Stephen Axcell joins from an accountancy practice in Surrey where he built up a reputation for working with clients within both the SME and not for profit sectors.
Mark Squibb is a recently qualified Corporate Tax Advisor and will work with clients on a range of corporate tax compliance and planning issues.
