New £14m Staybridge Suites hotel opens in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM’S latest hotel, the £14m Staybridge Suites has officially opened its doors.

The four-star hotel, part of InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) extended-stay brand, is situated at Martineau Place with an entrance on Corporation Street, opposite House of Fraser.

The location was chosen by the company for its close proximity to both Birmingham’s business hub, Colmore Row and its shopping district.

Offering 168-suites, the hotel is aimed primarily at the extended-stay business market. It is designed to offer a ‘home-from-home’ environment to appeal to business professionals travelling for work.

All the suites have been finished to a high specification and feature a mix of domestic and hotel services. Guest amenities include free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, fully-equipped kitchens in all rooms, a “hub kitchen” with complimentary breakfast, a laundry room, exercise room, and a 24/7 deli-style pantry.

Chris Falcus, Staybridge Suites Birmingham General Manager said: “Our extended-stay hotels are designed to offer professionals all the comforts of home when travelling for work. With the growing number of business travellers in Birmingham, it made sense for us to open our doors in the city centre. The location was key for us and hotel represents not only a good investment in Birmingham’s business community but also in the regeneration of this area of the city.”

The Birmingham development marks the fourth Staybridge Suite to be opened in the UK following the success of its Liverpool, Newcastle and Stratford, London counterparts.
