Rentokil boosts pest control business with £4m acquisition in Worcester

FACILITIES management group Rentokil Initial is expanding its pest control business with the £4m acquisition of a subsidiary of Worcester-based Green Compliance.

The deal will be split with an initial payment of £3.25m followed by a further £0.75m payable over 12 months in line with normal contractual protections and performance.

The operation had audited revenues of £5m for the year ended March 31, 2013. The transaction is anticipated to complete on December 31, 2013.

Warndon-based Green Compliance is an AIM-listed business support services group which operates on a national basis. It provides compliance-related services in the water treatment. Fire suppression and detection, and pest control sectors.

Group turnover is £20m and the business, said to be one of the leading compliance services providers in the UK, employs 350 people.

Green Compliance group companies work with many blue chip household names in food and non-food manufacturing, retail, hospitality and leisure, education and healthcare as well as with other public sector organisations and some large facilities management companies.

Up until earlier this year Rentokil was the owner of Coventry-based logistics firm City Link. However, it sold off the loss-making decision in April for a token £1.
