JLR supplier Wenzel UK set to relocate to sustain growth

MIDLAND engineering firm Wenzel UK is to relocate to a new site in Worcestershire to support its growth.

The German-owned company, which supplies measuring machines and metrology systems, is relocating to a larger and more centrally located sales and technical centre in Redditch. The move is expected to go ahead next month.

Wenzel UK, part of the Wenzel Group, is a leading supplier to the likes of BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce Submarines and Bentley Motors.

The company has been in business for 20 years and said the extra capacity was needed to sustain growth and improve the service to its customers.

It said the site will have demonstration and customer support facilities and had been chosen because of its central location and easy access to the rest of the UK, through the motorway network.

Martin Hawkins, managing director of Wenzel UK, said: “The relocation to Redditch is another step in the continued growth of Wenzel UK over the last few years. The new location will make it easier for customers to see the latest Metrology systems Wenzel UK has to offer, but also increases our levels of business support and service, fundamental for our future growth.”

The company is planning an official opening in March, where Frank Wenzel and Dr Heike Wenzel-Dafler from the parent group in Wiesthal will attend. The event will also include a customer open day.

Wenzel Metrology equipment is used in a wide range of manufacturing industries including aerospace, automotive and medical.

The company will be promoting its new range of facilities when it takes part in the MACH 2014 engineering trade show at the NEC in April.
