Science park appoints Drivers as new letting agent

BIRMINGHAM Science Park Aston has instructed Drivers Jonas Deloitte in the city as its new letting agent.

The 22-acre park currently has 70 businesses in situ and management is now having a push to lease out the remaining 34,700 sq ft of stock which is spread across 17 suites in four of the site’s buildings – a vacancy rate of just under 18%.

Philippa Pickavance, head of agency at Drivers Jonas Deloitte in Birmingham, said: “We are delighted to have been instructed on Birmingham Science Park Aston, a unique office opportunity within Birmingham which provides supportive services and resources to and beyond its geographic boundaries.

“It’s a highly accessible location for businesses with an attractive out of town setting but ‘in town’ attitude and interactive supportive environment.”

The park has meeting and conference facilities, a coffee shop with free wireless internet access and a dedicated business development team.

Dr David Hardman, managing director of Birmingham Science Park Aston, added: “We are delighted to have Drivers Jonas Deloitte’s agency team on board.

“The aim is to grow technology related businesses here to help diversify the Birmingham economy.

“However, one of our immediate short-term aims is to build the wider business community at BSPA by letting the existing stock of accommodation to companies from a diverse range of sectors that can gain benefit from locating to this urban environment focussed on promoting successful high growth enterprises.”
