Jobs boost as Amazon makes 330 temporary jobs in Staffs permanent

ONLINE retailing giant Amazon has provided the region with a jobs boost after announcing 330 workers on temporary contracts at its base in Rugeley are to made permanent members of staff.

Amazon says that that in 2013 alone it has created more than 2,400 permanent positions in its UK fulfilment centres.

Cannock Chase MP Aidan Burley said: “It is great news that Amazon have now been able to offer the security of a permanent position to even more local people.”

Amazon took 700,000 sq ft of space in Rugeley back in 2011.

At the time it was the UK’s largest available building.
