Wesleyan appoints new sales MD

SPECIALIST insurance firm Wesleyan Assurance Society has appointed Alan Jones as managing director of its financial services arm.

Jones will head up Wesleyan Financial Services and lead the firm’s 385-strong direct sales force.

This is a new executive management position at the Birmingham-headquartered insurer and Jones will report to the group sales & marketing director.

Wesleyan suggests Jones’ role will be pivotal as it seeks to grow its position in the medical, legal and teaching markets that it serves.

Samantha Porter, Wesleyan’s Group sales & marketing director, said: “I’m very pleased that Alan has chosen to continue his career at Wesleyan.  We have a challenging time ahead of us as we have ambitious plans to grow our business.

“Face-to-face selling has always been a key part of our offering and this personal contact is valued by our customers.  As we continue to grow, it has become necessary to appoint a dedicated managing director for the sales force to ensure we maximise our potential.”

Jones added: “This is an exciting time to join Wesleyan.  I have always admired its strong brand values and I can already see that this is a company that cares about its staff as well as its customers.

“There are going to be some real changes in the way Wesleyan operates over the coming years and I’m happy to be a part of that.”
