C&W presence at MIPM expanded

COVENTRY and Warwickshire’s likely impact at the major international property exhibition MIPIM has been boosted by a host of new partners.

Coventry has had a presence at the MIPIM property show in Cannes – which attracts global investors, developers and other industry figures – for the last 21 years and was joined by Warwickshire for the first time in 2013.

Its presence is funded by private sector companies the majority of whom attend the show as part of the Coventry and Warwickshire MIPIM Partnership.

Some 18 companies and organisations are supporting the push at next month’s event.

Les Ratcliffe of Jaguar Land Rover, and chair of the Coventry and Warwickshire Place Board, said the area’s approach had helped attract the new partners.

“We were among the first cities and areas in the UK to adopt the partnership approach, meaning there was no direct cost to the public purse, and it has allowed us to really punch above our weight on what is very much a global stage,” he said.

“Not only are partners able to pursue their own business aims while at the show, but they also come together to push the potential that lies in Coventry and Warwickshire.

“I think it says a great deal that we are attracting new companies every year, and that several other cities have adopted our approach.”

The companies joining the partnership for the first time this year include Coventry and Warwickshire Development Partnership, Deloitte Real Estate, Willmott Dixon, Premier Group, PWC, Serious Games International and Davis Weatherill Partnership.
