New offices and expanded team for Colmore Business District

BIRMINGHAM’S Colmore Business District (CBD) has expanded its team and moved into new premises as it enters into its second five-year term with a mandate to deliver improvements to the city’s business quarter.
The business improvement district (BID) for the commercial quarter of Birmingham, CBD secured a strong ‘Yes vote’ from its businesses in a re-ballot last year to continue to a second five-year term, which commenced on April 1.
CBD’s new offices are in Waterloo House on Waterloo Street.
Led by executive director Michele Wilby, the BID2 team consists of new deputy BID manager, Tahreen Kutub, who has been promoted from her role as events & communications manager.
Recently announced as a finalist for Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) – for which TheBusinessDesk.com is official media partner – , Kutub will oversee a team consisting of projects manager Mike Mounfield, and projects assistants Sarah Rennie and Jonathan Bryce.
Executive assistant Clare Perkins will support Wilby and the delivery of BID services. Matt Jones, the local Police and Community Support Officer for the CBD area, will also use the new offices as a base.
CBD chair Gary Cardin said: “Having had such a strong mandate from our businesses to continue to a second five-year term, it is crucial that we have the right capacity, the right skills and the right accommodation to ensure the delivery of the ambitious projects and services detailed in our BID2 business plan.
“I believe we have a highly talented, driven and passionate team who, working with the board, will ensure we take forward our objectives for BID2 and make a real positive impact on the business district.
“Waterloo House provides a great environment for our team to work in and to deliver the very best in the business quarter in this new term.”
