Vodafone to take 23,000 sq ft at Colmore Plaza

TELECOMS giant is to move to the Colmore Plaza building in central Birmingham, taking a whole floor of space for a new technology hub.
It has taken the entire 22,924 sq ft ninth floor of the 14-storey Colmore Plaza building on a ten year lease.
A fit-out is currently underway.
Reports suggests it is to transfer 186 employees from elsewhere in the city.
The move seems to be part of a reorganisation within the company. It comes soon after Vodafone published proposals to close eight offices throughout the country, with a reported 121 job losses in Burton on Trent alone.
It plans instead to operate from technology hubs in Birmingham, Bracknell and Glasgow.
Vodafone plans to close the Burton building by March 2015.
The firm was advised on the Birmingham move by Colliers International while Colmore Plaza owner Carlyle Group was advised by GVA.
