Shanghai office supports Chinese growth for Filtermist

SHROPSHIRE-based manufacturer, Filtermist, has cemented its commitment to supporting sales in China by moving in to new offices in Shanghai.
The oil mist collector manufacturer has taken space in newly renovated offices in the city’s centrally located Jing’an district.
The firm said the location offered a number of benefits for Filtermist and its co-located sister company, Absolent AB, not least being its close proximity to the Shanghai Metro, which provides easy access to the national rail network and both of Shanghai’s airports.
The firm said it wanted to tap into China’s booming manufacturing sector and problems with poor air quality mean the country offers enormous potential for Filtermist, whose oil mist collectors are used to clean the air in a wide range of industrial workplaces.
James Stansfield, Filtermist International Managing Director, said: “We decided to locate in Shanghai to help grow business in all regions of China. Whilst Shanghai itself is home to a significant manufacturing industry, there are a number of less well-known industrial sectors that offer opportunities for Filtermist in almost all regions of the country.
“The transport links near to the new office make the rest of China far more accessible.”
Chinese sales of Filtermist units have increased rapidly over the past few years, making the country one of the firm’s leading export markets.
To capitalise, the firm has appointed dedicated Business Development Manager, Carl Yu, who is based in the Shanghai office. As well as developing new business in China, he also supports the firm’s long-term Chinese distributor En-Creative, which is based in Beijing.
Yu said: “En-Creative has achieved a huge amount in China and as more and more manufacturers are recognising the importance of protecting their workers from contaminated air, demand is continuing to grow.
“Shanghai has always been a thriving industrial area thanks to its port and is now home to a significant number of automotive manufacturers – including the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), the current owner of MG.
“The new office space ensures Filtermist is presented to customers as a professional, modern advanced manufacturing company and provides space for us to grow in to as our business in China expands even further.”
