Newhall Square homemade for design organisation and other new lettings

MIDLANDS Architecture and the Designed Environment has moved across Birmingham to a new home in the Jewellery Quarter.

MADE, which was established to raise standards of architecture and urban design across the region, has left its home in Digbeth to take up residence in 6-7 Newhall Square.

The organisation has taken a six-year lease on a 1,970 sq ft office for an undisclosed rent, having outgrown its previous offices.

It employs eight full- and part-time staff and calls on a panel of 40 built-environment specialists including architects, artists, engineers, designers and urban designers.

6-7 Newhall Square is part of the £63m mixed-used Newhall Square scheme which comprises 10,856 sq ft, over five floors.

RO St Bernards let the office to MADE. Agents for the Newhall Square scheme are Colliers International and GBR Phoenix Beard.

Elsewhere, Miller Developments’ Solihull office complex The Pavillions has welcomed two new tenants.

Sports injuries clinic PhysioWorld has taken a 2,456 sq ft office while interior design and fit-out firm the Wattrus Group is leasing 1,858 sq ft.

Trebor Developments represented PhysioWorld and GVA Grimley acted on behalf of Miller Developments.

Associate at GVA Grimley Adrian Griffith said: “Given the obvious difficult market conditions we are encouraged by the occupier interest in The Pavilions, with only five out of the 12 buildings now available for occupation.”

Finally, the financial arm of American industrial equipment manufacturer Caterpillar has moved 94 staff to new premises on Blythe Valley Park in Solihull.

Caterpillar Financial Services and its Global Power Finance announced in July it planned to switch its base from nearby Hockley Heath to the 12,013 sq ft office in the ‘Nexus’ building on the business park.

The deal was completed by the Birmingham office of commercial property consultants Cushman and Wakefield on behalf of leaseholders energy company Centrica.
