General Appointments: Sertec; Brockway Carpets; Energetics; Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce

Sertec appoints new Presslite operations director

MANUFACTURER Sertec Group has announced the appointment of a new operations director for its Aston and Saltley factories, Presslite Ltd.

Steve Moore has amassed a great deal of manufacturing experience across a number of sectors, but with a strong bias for the automotive industry.

He joins Sertec at a critical time as it seeks to capitalise further on the expansion and capabilities at its Birmingham sites.

Moore worked most recently at a high pressure aluminium die casting business and previously worked for a heat transfer company. He has extensive knowledge of automotive planning, purchasing, production and logistics.

His work has seen him support OEM and tier 1 customers both in the UK and overseas.

Presslite’s Aston factory manufactures presswork and assemblies whilst the recently opened unit in Saltley specialises in Tube manipulation, exhaust bright trim and wire forming.

Brockway’s Glover moves up to national sales manager

BROCKWAY Carpets’ Steve Glover has been promoted to national sales manager as part of the company’s continuing expansion plans.

He moves up from his previous role as commercial manager, having joined Kidderminster based Brockway in 2003 after working in the carpet industry for much of his working life.

In his new role, Glover will manage the firm’s ten-strong national sales force with responsibility for expanding its UK-wide network of independent retailers.

He said: “I am delighted to accept this new challenge. These are exciting times for the Brockway brand with a major product development programme underway and it is great to be part of our success.”

Sales director Shaun Lewis added: ”This is a very important position as we move forward, and having Steve’s calibre and experience is a huge asset to our team.”

Energetics expands its Midlands team

MULTI-UTILITY connections provider Energetics has appointed Sean Waters and Ron Nicol as it begins a major strengthening of its Midlands regional presence.

Waters has joined Energetics as regional director and will be overseeing the implementation of utility services to new developments throughout the Midlands, as well as the South of England, while Nicol is the company’s new Midlands regional manager.

The bolstering of Energetics Midlands team follows the company’s receipt last year of £38m in debt and equity financing from affiliates of Macquarie Group, a banking, financial, advisory and funds management service provider.

Staffing across the company’s Midlands operating region, headquartered in Coleshill, which stood at just over 30 when the investment was made, is projected to grow to 200 in the next four years.

Waters was previously operations manager with Veolia Water while Nicol also spent six years with Veolia’s capital delivery arm.

H&W Chamber brings in new president

JIM McBride, director of Henley Business Group, has stepped down as president of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, to make way for new president, Stuart Speight, director of IE Developments.

Speight said: “Having a hands on approach with the local business community, being a director of a local business myself, gives me the insights to know what our members need.

“Hopefully, bringing my years of experience within the construction sector to the Chamber and helping to improve education and training within this most important sector.

“Personally, I would like to see Herefordshire playing a greater role in the Chamber, to lift its profile and see more local events for each sector.

“I know I share this goal with CEO Mike Ashton.”
