Second JLR contract win for Voith

WARWICK-based automotive sector supplier Voith Industrial Services has won a second contract with Jaguar Land Rover in little more than a fortnight.
The new contract involves managing a range of services at Jaguar Land Rover’s manufacturing plants at Solihull, Castle Bromwich, and Halewood.
The contract, an extension of existing Voith Industrial Services’ business with JLR, involves 700 employees.
Other technical services that Voith will be responsible for include electrical, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning maintenance. Facility management services will also include janitorial cleaning, office cleaning, waste management and buildings.
No monetary value has been put on the contract.
Phil Spencer, Voith Industrial Services’ sales and business development director, said: “We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Jaguar Land Rover and are obviously delighted that it will continue in the future.
“The recent expansion of Jaguar Land Rover into new markets, and their introduction of new models, makes Jaguar Land Rover a strategically important customer, and we hope we can build on this success over the coming years.”
Recently Voith Industrial Services made further inroads into the UK automotive sector by winning contracts with Peugeot and Vauxhall Motors.
German-owned Voith provides technical cleaning services in paint shops in 80 car plants worldwide.
In the UK Voith Industrial Services employs 2,400 people – mainly at customer sites.
Two weeks ago Voith secured a major facilities management contract for Jaguar Land Rover’s new £500m Engine Manufacturing Centre near Wolverhampton.
