St Modwen in a Tale of Two Tims as FD quits

THE corporate sector management merry-go-round in the West Midlands has taken a new turn following an announcement by leading regeneration specialist St Modwen Properties.

The Quinton firm said today that its group finance director Tim Haywood is to leave the group on or before November 30 to take up the equivalent position at support services group Interserve.

St Modwen, which is leading the redevelopment of Longbridge, said the search for his replacement was well advanced and an announcement would be made in due course.

Bill Oliver, chief executive of St Modwen, said: “I would like to thank Tim for all his work over the last seven years, and in particular in helping us refinance the business last year which has placed St Modwen in a strong position for the next cycle. We wish him well in his future career.”

St Modwen publishes an Interim Management Statement tomorrow (September 30).

Mr Haywood will be stepping into the boots of namesake Tim Jones, who has left Interserve to replace Jeremy Townsend as FD at Birmingham pubco Mitchells & Butlers.

The appointment at M&B follows a bitter boardroom feud earlier this year which resulted in the ousting of former chairman Simon Laffin.
