Monkey Mania swings into action after new funding deal

A NEW children’s play centre has opened in Shropshire with the creation of five full-time jobs.

Monkey Mania has set up at Ludlow Business Park, Ludlow with the support of a £140,000 loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

The new centre offers indoor soft play facilities for more than 100 children in the local community.

The business was established by parent company, ASE Plumbing & Heating Supplies Ltd, after company director Adam Pearce recognised a need for a new children’s play facility in the Ludlow area.

He approached the Hereford office of Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking for support, and the bank provided the loan to fund the renovation of a 3,200 sq ft space in his business premises, as well as the purchase of play equipment for the centre.

Funding was granted using the Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS), which offers discounts of 1% for the life of the loan.

The playcentre is contemplating further expansion with the opening of new facilities such as a crèche and by making its utility rooms available to hire for local activities, such as toddler groups, tea mornings and party functions.

Adam Pearce, director of Monkey Mania, said: “With two young children of my own, I recognised the need for more play facilities in the local area, and saw an opportunity to renovate a space in my existing business premises to start a new venture.

“The funding provided by Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has been instrumental in allowing me to accelerate my plans.”

Neil Herbert, Relationship Manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking in Hereford, said: “Monkey Mania is a fantastic new start-up, that will provide a wide range of facilities for the Ludlow community, and the new jobs that are being created are a boost for the local economy.”
