Legal Appointments: Medical Accident Group; Quality Solicitors CMHT; Thomas Guise

Medical Accident Group recruits new trio

MEDICAL Accident Group, the sister company of Harrison Clark Rickerbys, has recruited three new staff members to its ever-growing team.

Beverley Brewer has joined as Chartered Legal Executive. She has experience in dealing with a wide range of clinical negligence claims, following 12 years’ working at Wadsworths Solicitors in Solihull, where she trained and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive specialising in clinical negligence.

MAG has also given new paralegals Eve Loughrey and Nathalie Needham the opportunity to get on the first rung of their career ladders in their ambitions to become solicitors.

Ms Loughrey is a recent graduate from the University of Liverpool, where she completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law.

Ms Needham is the latest recruit to the team, having completed her Law Degree at the University of Nottingham and her LPC at the University of Law in Birmingham. She studied healthcare law as part of her degree, which fuelled her interest in the medical negligence field.

Inez Brown, Partner and Clinical Negligence Specialist at Medical Accident Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Beverley, Eve and Nathalie to our team and we are confident that they will add real value to our clients in Birmingham and across the Midlands.”

CMHT beefs upcorporate offering with new partner

WALSALL and Aldridge-based Quality Solicitors CMHT have recruited new corporate partner, Jas Singh.

He has spent the majority of his career at one of the country’s leading law firms in Birmingham, where he advised some of the region’s biggest companies.

CMHT partner Mark Hughes said: “This recruitment is a major milestone in the development of CMHT.  As with all businesses for the past few years our focus has been on weathering the difficult economic climate however, we always knew that when the economy improved there would be opportunities for expansion.

“We are now responding to a major upturn in confidence among SMEs in the region, which has seen increased demand for high quality specialist legal services from local companies.”

CMHT is one of the largest law firms in Walsall and following the success of its Aldridge office in attracting clients from North Birmingham, it has decided to focus on developing the geographic spread of its services and developing its commercial client base.

Jas Singh said: “The intention is to continue to develop the commercial side of the business so that it can cater for owner managed businesses across the West Midlands, including in Birmingham.”
