Lex Autolease ensures Britvic doesn’t run out of juice

WEST Midlands vehicle leasing group, Lex Autolease has concluded a successful operational review for soft drinks supplier Britvic.

The company helped the drinks firm save more than £70,000 following a review of its commercial vehicle fleet.

Britvic wanted to reduce its carbon footprint and try to make cost savings across its fleet of 527 vehicles.

A key part of the review was the introduction of 75 new VW Caddy Maxi vans with BlueMotion engines to replace older and less fuel efficient vehicles. The move reduced annual carbon emissions by more than 90 tonnes. The new vans also benefited from sat-navs and cruise control to reduce unnecessary speed and mileage.

The review also involved analysis of vehicle usage and the loads they carry.  This move helped Britvic to shed a collective 2.4 tonnes of unnecessary stock carried across the fleet, which in-turn produced significant improvements in fuel efficiency.

Telematics technologies have also been bolstered within Britvic’s fleet to maintain the level of fuel efficiency and improve the quality of information collecting. This is now managed by a specialist team at Lex Autolease.

Simon Mohun, Regional Technical Service Manager at Britvic said: “Our relationship with Lex Autolease is working really well and we feel like partners who are making significant strides in the right direction together.

“The renewal process was comprehensive, targeted many objectives and we have been very demanding throughout the process to ensure we have achieved the perfect vehicle offering for our operation.”

Vicki Hodgson, Corporate Relationship Manager at Lex Autolease, said that by taking a collaborative approach with Britvic’s technical services team, her firm had been able to deliver important savings for their customer.

“This strategic, business-focused project created significant benefits as well as excelled cost savings. The starting point was really getting to grips with how Britvic worked and what they wanted to achieve,” she said.
