Squire Patton Boggs strengthens Birmingham Corporates team

INTERNATIONAL law firm, Squire Patton Boggs has strengthened its Birmingham office with the appointment of new Corporate partner Andrew Glaze.
Glaze joins the firm from SGH Martineau in Birmingham, which has recently been the subject of a major merger with city rival Shakespeares.
Glaze has more than 17 years’ corporate finance experience, including as a director at Wragge & Co, in particular specialising in mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions. He advises quoted companies and major corporates on M&A and all types of public company work.
Earlier this year, he acted for Keycom plc in connection with its recommended takeover by UKB Networks Limited.
Geoff Perry, head of the Birmingham Corporate team at Squire Patton Boggs, said: “Activity in the Midlands corporate market has improved significantly over the past year, and we are seeing increased deal activity amongst large corporates and institutional investors in particular. In the face of client demand, we have been looking to expand our corporate team in Birmingham. Andrew is an experienced, dynamic lawyer, well-known in the market and by our team, and we are excited to announce his arrival.
“We are pleased to welcome Andrew on board; his arrival will add significant depth to the services we offer,” added Nick Green, managing partner of Squire Patton Boggs in Birmingham.
“We continue to invest in strengthening our capabilities in the Midlands, and have appointed a number of highly skilled lawyers during the course of the last few months.”
Glaze’s appointment follows that of Restructuring & Insolvency partner Russell Hill, who joined the firm last month from Eversheds, and the promotion to the partnership of Birmingham lawyers Garon Anthony and Roy Grist.
The firm’s UK-based Corporate team now has over 60 lawyers across four offices – London, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester – with a strong focus on mid-market M&A, private equity and capital markets.
