Boutique cinema group planning Stratford opening

EVERYMAN Cinema Group, which recently opened at the Mailbox in Birmingham, is planning to launch in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The boutique cinema operator announced to the London Stock Exchange this morning that it had exchanged on the acquisition of a site in Stratford and the opening of an Everyman there is expected to occur during 2017.

The group also announced it had agreed to take over four theatres from Odeon Cinemas and ABC Cinemas in London and the South East.

Completion of the acquisitions remains subject to landlord consent on each of the South East sites, save for Muswell Hill where consent has been provided and completion is expected to occur today.

Everyman opened its doors at the Mailbox in Birmingham in February.

The 12,350 sq ft venue boasts three screens and is showing both national releases and a regularly updated and curated themed film programme.

Everyman’s trademark sofa seating can be found in each of the three screens.
