Black Country accountants expands offering with new acquisition

BLACK Country accountants and business adviser Nicklin has expanded its presence in the area with a new acquisition.

The Halesowen practice has acquired local firm Henn & Westwood in an undisclosed deal. Nicklin said the move consolidated its position as a leading firm of financial services advisers.

It said that with offices in Halesowen and Wolverhampton, the services on offer at Henn & Westwood complemented Nicklin’s own.

These services include management accounts and advice, accounting and auditing, business tax, personal tax and computerised bookkeeping and payroll services; which Nicklin said would enhance its own provision to its commercial and private clients.

Nicklin has been on a path to growth since it underlined its ambitions in July 2012 with the acquisition of Rubery-based Lowe McTernan; transferring all of the firm’s staff and work to its own premises in Halesowen.

The firm next expanded in 2013 when it acquired Woodall Davies Bache, which was also moved into Nicklin’s offices.

Under the leadership of managing partner Harvey Owen, the firm continues to maintain an active acquisition strategy by looking for suitable practices which will enhance its offering further.

Owen said: “This is great news and we are all really pleased that the acquisition of Henn & Westwood has gone through successfully. Just like when we acquired Lowe McTernan, all of Henn & Westwood’s staff have been moved into our premises so there are no redundancies.”
