Bell Cornwall recruits for itself
NATASHA Addison has joined the Birmingham-based Bell Cornwall Recruitment for the second time.
She worked at the firm as a recruitment consultant five years ago. Now she is back as a senior business development consultant.
Addison left Bell Cornwall later to take up a graduate recruitment role on a government project based at Aston University.
She said: “Bell Cornwall helped me develop my skills when I was here five years ago, so it’s great to be back.
“The firm’s values and fresh approach to recruitment really resonate with me. I’m really going to enjoy being part of their new team based in new offices.”
Bell Cornwall Recruitment recently moved from its offices in the Jewellery Quarter to new offices in Lancaster House on the edge of Birmingham’s central business district.
Mantec strengthens its sales team
INDUSTRIAL ceramics firm Mantec Technical Ceramics has strengthened its team with the appointment of Mark Crooks as sales manager, filtration products.
Crooks, who is currently chairman of The Filtration Society, will now take the lead in global sales of the Stoke-on-Trent company’s wide range of speciality porous ceramics which feature heavily in filtration, fluidisation and aeration.
He brings a wealth of experience to this newly created position and has spent his entire career to date in the manufacturing and processing industries.
Having started his working life with Wedgwood and what was then British Ceramic Research Association, hewent on to spend more than 12 years in DPM sales with Johnson Matthey Colours and Coatings. Most recently he was regional sales manager with TSI Instruments.
“I’m excited about the challenges presented by this new post and have already been impressed by the expertise that Mantec has in developing high performance ceramic products,” he said.
Andy Clark, business director at Mantec Technical Ceramics, said: “We have deeper aspirations for this business segment and his appointment is part of a wider action plan for porous ceramics.”
Oxford puts his head on the chopping block
MIDLANDS catering company The Chopping Block has appointed a group beverage manager to lead a new division of the business.
Andrew Oxford has vast experience in the food and beverage industry and is leading The Chopping Block’s beverage team operating at functions and events across the country.
The firm, which is based in Flecknoe, near Rugby, has launched a beverage division to strengthen its corporate and trade events offering.
The new position will expand the company’s bespoke bar services which range from operating private bars, cocktail bars and public bars at corporate and private events.
Oxford has management experience at venues including Revolution, Gatecrasher, Chilli White and Lola Lo.
He said: “This is an exciting opportunity to support the growth of The Chopping Block.
“From meeting with the directors it is clear to see the company has made huge strides over the last few years and the challenge of helping the business expand its beverage offering at a wide range of events really appealed to me.”
New general manager for Birmingham hotel
A SPANISH hotelier is hoping to shine in his new post as general manager of Campanile Hotel Birmingham.
Angel Resmella has joined the venue in Chester Street, Aston, after working in the Spanish hospitality sector for almost 19 years.
He trained with international hotel brand RIU Hotels & Resorts.
He joined Louvre Hotels Group, which owns the Campanile Hotel brand, in 2004 and has worked as general manager at Campanile Hotel Alicante and Campanile Hotel Madrid.
Emmanuelle Le Rou, of Louvre Hotels Group said: “We are confident he will be able to strengthen the business by bringing fresh new ideas to the hotel.”
