Stoke on Trent Council concludes new banking partnership

STOKE-on-Trent City Council has agreed a new partnership with Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking to become its new banking partner.

The partnership comes after Lloyds Bank scored highest during the council’s procurement process, initiated after its previous banking partner withdrew from the market.

The bank’s specialist Government team will provide a service tailored to the needs of the council, which serves a population of 260,000. This will include streamlining processes to drive efficiency across all of the authority’s departments in an effort to make savings.

Laura Rowley, Chief Operating Officer at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “Choosing a new banking partner is an important process as we need to work alongside a team that understands our aims and has the expertise to provide the right facilities for our requirements, and it was clear that Lloyds Bank could offer this level of service to us.

“The bank were extremely helpful throughout the switching process, and we will be working closely with them to ensure we continue to provide a premium service to our residents and any relevant changes are communicated clearly to them.”

David Richardson, Regional Managing Director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Stoke-on-Trent City Council puts its residents at the heart of all decisions it makes, and we are pleased to partner with the authority to help them maximise efficiency across all departments.

“We have a specialist Government team at Lloyds Bank that understands the challenges faced by local authorities, and use their expertise to provide tailored, bespoke facilities to council management teams in what is a changing political and economic landscape.”
